About.

Agile Confidential is my personal blog, that wants to contribute to the current discourse about agile values & agile frameworks. It is a collection of thoughts, opinions and experiments, that I want to share – not a rulebook or a universal guide. I want people to take part in this discourse, to share their thoughts and experiences with agility, so that all facets can be explored.

I believe, that the agile way of working is the right way of working in our fast & complex world. It is sustainable and protects the people working in this environment from being depleted in the fast paced processes of modern development of products and projects. It perceives people as what they are: experts and adults.

I believe also, that beeing agile is not the answer to everything – it is only the answer to a very specific use case in a very specific industry in a very specific timeframe of the existance of humanity. But with it’s core principles it can be adapted into other parts of life.

Without experimentation, a willingness to ask questions and try new things, we shall surely become static, repetitive, and moribund.

Anthony Bourdain

Agile Confidential is an homage to the book “Kitchen Confidential” written by Anthony Bourdain. In this book he is brutally honest about himself and the food service industry – but always with a pinch of humor. The insides he gives are maybe the most transparent thing about his industry and should be held as a standard when you talk about your job and the environemnt you work in.
So, dear reader, you can expect honesty, true stories and maybe some lessons about agile environments and the software industry itself.
